It is obvious why people invite guests to their wedding ” it is for them to witness the joining of their close friends or relatives in the bond of marriage and to share their happiness. Gifts for the bride and groom are optional but most people tend to bring at least a small token of their happiness for them.
Some people believe, despite what traditionalists would say, that gifts should be compulsory on wedding days because of the amount of money that the bride and groom spend on feeding and entertaining their guests and that the gifts are a way of repaying them.
Quite a common way of organising the gift giving at a wedding is for the couple to register for gifts from a particular shop or chain of shops. When the bride and groom register for gifts they will usually make up a list of gift ideas that they would like to receive from the guests and the list will usually be comprised of general household necessities such as china and silverware.
