Avoid Stressing Yourself On Thinking About The Number Of Male And Female Guests
Friday, May 14th, 2010Most formal dinner parties involve equal numbers of men and women, so that each diner has a dining companion for conversation.
There’s always the tradition of inviting an extra unpaired man to the dinner party, to make sure that the balance of guests evens out. It’s a good tradition to revive if you’re having trouble getting your guests to balance out.
In some cities, single men are as rare as hen’s teeth. Still, you’ll want to locate a few to have available to use as the extra man in the event you invite a single female guest. This will be pleasing to your single female friend who would otherwise have to attend on her own and feel like a fifth wheel.
The numbers are what matter though, don’t worry about trying to match the exact people to one another. It’s not that big of a deal if you don’t have an exact match either; if you can’t manage it, let it go.
You don’t want to worry to the point where every little thing looms large and gets overwhelming. There are big issues to plan for, like your menu, so that you don’t want to get bogged down in numbers and seating.
